Remembering the U.S. Occupation of Haiti

A number of organizations in Haiti have been working over the past years to create scholarly dialogue and public commemoration about the U.S. Occupation of Haiti (1915-1934). On December 17-19 of 2016, the Société Haïtienne d’Histoire, de Géographie et de Géologie will be holding a multi-lingual international conference at the Hotel Karibe in Pétionville focusing on the topic. Presentations can be given in French, Kreyol, Spanish and English. Above are documents (in French) outlining the goals of the conference as well as a form for proposals. Proposals and queries can be sent to

We at the Forum for Scholars & Publics are partnering with the group to share the information. Please circulate widely.
